WandaVision Becomes Top Streaming Show Of 2021 After 5 Episodes

Disney+ has done it again. The streamer’s second original TV series, Marvel’s WandaVision, is one of the top streaming shows of 2021 so far.

The miniseries based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe couple Wanda Maximoff and Vision has seen an increase in viewership from its premiere on 15 January with every episode (via Forbes). The sitcom-styled show ranked sixth among original shows on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Disney+ for the week of 11 January – 17 January alongside Disney+’s The Mandalorian.

WandaVision takes on a class sitcom-style TV show and takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Filled with easter eggs, unanswered questions, surprise returns and new cast members like Kathryn Hahn, numbers show that audiences are fans of what showrunner Jac Schaeffer has done with the show.

Just like what Disney+ did with their original Star Wars series The Mandalorian, the weekly release has proven to add on to the show’s success with numbers increasing week by week, especially after the return of a special character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Having seen great growth and demand just with the first 5 episodes, WandaVision is on its way to approaching the success of The Mandalorian, though time will tell.

The nine-episode series is currently on its sixth episode and is fast approaching their teased epic season finale.

Catch an episode of WandaVision on Disney+ every Friday.
