New year, new games, as the saying goes. While the likes of Death Stranding and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice blew us all away in 2019, we’re already looking ahead to the games coming out at the start of the new decade.
For starters, the first half of the year is jam-packed with a ton of heavy hitters (and possibly Game of the Year contenders), with the likes of Final Fantasy VII Remake, Cyberpunk 2077 and The Last of Us Part II all releasing one month after another in quick succession. The latter half of 2020 is a big question mark as per usual, with those releases slated to be announced at E3 2020.
And of course, this year is especially huge, with the release of the eighth generation of flagship consoles just around the corner. Already we know that Godfall will be a launch title for the PlayStation 5, while the Xbox Series X will see the debuts of both Halo Infinite and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, so good times lie ahead.
Without further ado, here are the upcoming games for 2020 and beyond!

Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
