It’s all coming together for The Batman starring Robert Pattinson as the latest to don the cape and cowl. Where we were given sneak peeks at Pattinson’s new Batsuit last month, director Matt Reeves has lifted the lid on how the new Batmobile looks this week on Twitter.
Previously, the new Batmobile was speculated to have been a muscle car, which was pretty spot-on, all things considered.
And like we’d imagined, the Batman’s new ride is a major departure from the futuristic designs all employed by recent directors, instead opting for a more classic design, something like the Batmobile from the Adam West Batman series from 1966. We wager this one takes inspiration from Ford Mustang 1968, or the one seen in the Silver Age of comic books.
Though we’re still a long way till the premiere of The Batman, we think Reeves has done a spectacular job so far at making the Caped Crusader his own, while still retaining his classic look. Now it all falls to Pattinson and his co-stars Colin Farrell, Peter Sarsgaard, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, John Turturro, Zoe Kravitz and Paul Dano, to deliver in their performances.
The Batman opens in theatres on 25 June 2021.
