Aside from iconic Bat-characters such as the Caped Crusader himself, Joker, Robin and Commissioner Gordon, Catwoman is also a longstanding character in the comic books and accompanying media.

Specifically for live-action, Kravitz will have big shoes to fill, with the likes of Anne Hathaway (The Dark Knight Rises), Michelle Pfeiffer (Batman Returns), and the legendary Julie Newmar (the Adam West Batman in the 1960s), and most recently Carmen Bicondova (Gotham), all having had their go at the feisty feline female.

Kravitz will join not only Robert Pattinson’s Batman, but also Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, as well as Jonah Hill, whose villanous role is still yet to be confirmed.

The Batman is slated to release theatrically on June 25, 2021.
