John Turturro Is Carmine Falcone In Matt Reeves’ The Batman

Another Batman baddie has joined the roster as Matt Reeves revealed over the weekend that John Turturro will be playing the underground crime lord, Carmine Falcone in his superhero film, The Batman.

This would make Turturro the fourth villain to be featured in the film with Zoe Kravitz playing Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, and hopefully Collin Farrell as The Penguin. It looks like Commissioner Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) and the Caped Crusader (Robert Pattinson) have their work cut out for them.

In the iconic Batman: Year One timeline, Carmine Falcone, nicknamed ‘The Roman’ is responsible for the organised crime that has crippled Gotham City. Batman, along with some of his buddies like Jim Gordon, works tirelessly to whittle his hold on Gotham and restore balance.

Previously, Tom Wilkinson played Falcone in Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins, while John Doman portrayed him on Fox’s Gotham.

Mainly known for his role of Agent Simmons in the Transformers series, Turturro has a long career working with film icons such as Spike Lee and The Coen Brothers, picking up Emmy and Golden Globe nominations along the way.

With so many villains making their way into The Batman, will we get to see every member from Batman’s Rogue Gallery in this upcoming blockbuster? The Batman is scheduled for release on June 25, 2021.
