Disney Delays Marvel’s ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, ‘Blade’, ‘Deadpool 3’, ‘Fantastic Four’ and more

Disney is on a roll. The studio is delaying and shifting the releases of some of its highly anticipated movies, most of which happen to be superhero movies hailed from Marvel.

Blade has been moved from 3 November 2023 to 6 September 2024, thus creating a ripple effect on the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies slated for release. Deadpool 3 now moves from 6 September 2024 to 8 November 2024, and Fantastic Four has shifted from 8 November 2024 to 14 February 2025.

An untitled Marvel film has been knocked off its 14 February 2025 release date to 7 November 2025. This means Avengers: Secret Wars has been delayed from 7 November 2025 to 1 May 2026. Another untitled Marvel film set for 1 May 2026 has been removed from Disney’s calendar entirely.

The reason behind Blade‘s delay is likely due to the recent news that director Bassam Tariq has exited the project, leaving the film without a director and forcing Marvel to pause production. This inevitably affects all the films that follow after.

In spite of this disappointing news, Marvel fans still have something to look forward to. The studio’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is releasing soon on 11 November 2022, marking the end of Marvel Phase 4.
