‘Loki’ & ‘Doctor Strange 2’ Writer Michael Waldron Tapped To Pen ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’

Avengers: Secret Wars has found its writer. Michael Waldron has been attached to pen the big Marvel movie following the success of Loki and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

This news comes after Marvel announced that Jeff Loveness is on board to write Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton will join Loveness as the movie’s director.

Just like The Kang Dynasty, plot details of Secret Wars are still kept under wraps.

Waldron has been on a roll in the past year, starting with the hit Loki series for Disney+ where he served as executive producer and showrunner. The series, starring Tom Hiddleston as the God of Mischief, became one of the few Marvel series to receive a second-season renewal.

Waldron also wrote the sequel to Doctor Strange, expanding the multiverse as we know it. The film grossed more than US$950 million at the worldwide box office and is one of Marvel’s bigger movies in post-pandemic times.

Avengers: Secret Wars is currently slated to release on 8 November 2025.
