Daniel Bernhardt To Reprise His Role As Agent Johnson In Matrix 4

Agent Smith might be noticeably absent in The Matrix 4, but it doesn’t mean other agents won’t be making their return to oppose Neo.

According to Deadline, actor Daniel Bernhardt has officially signed on to reprise his role as Agent Johnson in the highly anticipated Matrix sequel. Bernhardt made his first, and only, appearance in The Matrix Reloaded where he starred as Agent Johnson, the leader of the newly upgraded agents. He most notably faced off against Keanu Reeves’ Neo near the start of the film and Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus later in the film on a speeding truck.

Unfortunately, as with Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith), Fishburne will not be reprising his role for the newest film in the franchise.

Bernhardt is a veteran actor and stuntman, having appeared in several other films aside from The Matrix Reloaded, including The Hunter Games: Catching Fire, Birds of Prey, and Logan

Though temporarily halted due to the ongoing pandemic, filming for The Matrix 4 has since resumed, with the movie set to release in theatres on 1 April 2021.

The film stars Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss reprising their roles as Neo and Trinity respectively, alongside Jada Pinkett Smith, Neil Patrick Harries, Jessica Henwick, Priyank Chopra, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Johnathan Groff
