Neil Patrick Harris And Jessica Henwick Join The Matrix 4

The stage is set for The Matrix 4, with the return of Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as Neo and Trinity respectively, alongside Lana Wachowski reprising her role as director.

However, with a new movie in the franchise, we’ll no doubt be welcoming new faces in the Matrix as well. This time, the star duo of Neil Patrick Harris and Jessica Henwick have been reportedly tapped to join the upcoming sequel.

According to Variety, Harris’ (How I Met Your Mother, Gone Girl) involvement with the movie has been confirmed by Warner Bros, but what role he’ll be playing exactly remains to be seen.

Deadline reports that Henwick (Iron Fist, Game of Thrones) on the other hand, is tipped to play the lead role in The Matrix 4. Her role is assumedly to be parallel to that of Reeves’ Neo in the original trilogy, but nothing is confirmed as of yet.

Aside from the pair, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Aquaman), is rumoured to play the role of a young Morpheus. Also, Jada Pinkett Smith (Gotham) is in talks to reprise her role as Niobe, though it isn’t set in stone yet.

The search for the principal cast for The Matrix 4 still goes on, and production won’t start as soon as 2020.
