As production for The Matrix 4 continues, fans are getting more and more glimpses of Keanu Reeves‘ return as Neo, along with his reunion with Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity.
A new piece of set footage thanks to Twitter user @vedoveto37 sees the duo reunited on a motorcycle, while filming in San Francisco (via CBR).
Like we’d seen in previous set photos, we know that Reeves will be retaining his shaggy look, as seen in John Wick: Chapter 3. Moss, on the other hand, loses her iconic shades, while still looking every bit as badass as she did almost two decades ago. While we’re still hazy on story details for the sequel, the above image might suggest that Trinity may have ascended as a mentor to Neo, replacing Morpheus.
And speaking of which, while Laurence Fishburne may not be returning for The Matrix 4, the casting of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Watchmen, Aquaman) might also suggest that we’ll be getting a younger Morpheus instead. Other cast members include Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jessica Henwick.
The Matrix 4 will release in theatres on 21 March 2021, the same date as John Wick: Chapter 4.
