Stepping into the event, attendees were greeted by a vibrant array of installations celebrating upcoming Disney projects. From the lush tropical vibes of Moana 2 and the majestic world of Mufasa: The Lion King to the intergalactic adventures of The Mandalorian and the gritty streets of Shogun, there was something to capture every fan’s imagination.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Set in a vibrant 1960s-inspired universe, the film introduces audiences to a fresh take on these iconic heroes, with a star-studded cast including Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic and Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman. Marvel Studios is bringing a unique flavour to the MCU with Thunderbolts*, an unconventional team-up film featuring a band of anti-heroes and misfits. The Disney APAC Content Showcase offered a glimpse into this edgy new addition to the franchise, highlighting the unlikely alliance of characters like Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), and Red Guardian (David Harbour).

Harbour (Stranger Things), who portrays the Red Guardian, shared a special message with attendees, while exclusive footage provided a sneak peek at the film’s irreverent tone and action-packed sequences. Thunderbolts* promises to subvert expectations and deliver a thrilling cinematic experience when it electrifies theaters on 2 May 2025.

Captain America: Brave New World

Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) soared into the Disney APAC Content Showcase, bringing the excitement of Captain America: Brave New World with him. The star, who reprises his role as Sam Wilson, now officially Captain America, engaged in an exclusive Q&A session, offering insights into the upcoming film. Mackie shared his enthusiasm for portraying this iconic hero, stating, “I have been in the Universe for 10 years now and have been in over 10 of these movies, so to have Sam Wilson start off where he grew into Captain America is very unique. No other character in the cinematic universe has that experience. He has the ability to not only honour his country, but honour his friend Steve Rogers.”

In Captain America: Brave New World, Sam faces a global threat after encountering the newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny). Mackie teased the action-packed sequences and his character’s evolution, promising fans, “I am most excited for y’all to see me kicking a**.” With a new Wakandan suit enhancing his abilities, Captain America is ready to take flight and save the world once again when the film premieres on 14 February 2025.

But the Marvel excitement didn’t end there! Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, also made a virtual appearance, sharing his enthusiasm for upcoming projects like The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts*. BULLET/BULLET

Anime enthusiasts can anticipate a high-octane thrill ride with BULLET/BULLET, a new original series from acclaimed director Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen, Ninja Kamui). Coming to Disney+ in Summer 2025, the anime follows a skilled team of thieves for hire who find themselves entangled in a dangerous web of consequences after completing a risky job.

An early teaser video and visual was shared, showcasing Park’s signature dynamic style and intense animation. With a talented creative team behind it, BULLET/BULLET promises to deliver a gripping story filled with twists, turns, and explosive action sequences.

Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation

Fans of Disney and anime alike can look forward to the premiere of Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation on Disney+ in 2025. Based on the popular mobile game and manga, the series invites viewers to the magical Night Raven College, an arcane academy where students wield extraordinary powers.

The APAC Content Showcase revealed that the anime will be a three-season production, with the first season, Episode of Heartslabyul, set to premiere in October 2025. Following the storylines of the game, the series promises to explore the secrets and rivalries within the student body, as well as the unique magic system that governs this fantastical world.

CAT’S EYE 

Anime fans can anticipate a thrilling new addition to Disney+ in 2025 with the premiere of CAT’S EYE. Based on the popular manga series by Tsukasa Hojo (City Hunter), the anime follows three sisters who lead a double life: running a café by day and transforming into art thieves by night.

Adding a modern twist to this classic story, Japanese pop sensation Ado (One Piece Film: Red) will perform a new rendition of the iconic CAT’S EYE theme song. The Disney APAC Content Showcase offered a glimpse of this exciting adaptation, teasing the action, intrigue, and sisterly bonds that await viewers in this stylish anime series.
