The badge of honour for the OPPO Find X series may be photography, but that doesn’t mean it falls short in other areas. Bearing the same Hasselblad-branded flair as its predecessor, the OPPO Find X8 Pro has re-entered the flagship arena to challenge the boundaries of everyday camera tech – and without any performance comprises to boot.
Powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor and Mali G925 GPU, it stands on even footing with other flagship models. The device also boasts 12GB of RAM, upgradable to 28GB (a base 16GB + 12GB expansion), and 512GB of storage, which is typically sufficient for day-to-day tasks.
Display wise, it features a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1,264 x 2,780 pixels, and comes in slightly bigger than its non-Pro sibling (6.59 inches and a 1,256 x 2,760 resolution, respectively). Don’t be fooled by the phone’s not-quite-standard CPU and GPU combo, however – the OPPO Find X8 Pro proves to be a dark horse that promises an enjoyable gaming experience.
Whether it’s Genshin Impact, Zenless Zone Zero, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, PUBG Mobile or Arena Breakout, the handset is able to run the show smoothly, with its thermal management ending up as a surprise standout. Check out how well it fares in our gaming test video above, which includes starting temperatures, performance indicators, and other notable findings.
