“Finally, [we’re] bringing Marvel’s First Family into the MCU. They wrap next week, the movie comes out next summer, and then all those characters go right into the next Avengers movies, so I’m very excited for the future of the Fantastic Four,” Feige said. Set to release next summer, The Fantastic Four: First Steps features an ensemble cast including Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Julia Garner. Feige confirmed that following this release, the characters would transition directly into the next Avengers movies. He described the setting of the film as “a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world,” where the team faces their most daunting challenge yet.

During his showcase presentation, Feige also expressed his enthusiasm for Thunderbolts*, set to premiere in May 2025. The film stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, and David Harbour as Red Guardian. It features a group of antiheroes performing missions for the U.S. government. Feige explained, “It’s taking characters from all different types of places and franchises and putting them together. That’s what the Avengers is, that’s what Guardians of the Galaxy is.”

Looking further ahead, Feige touched on the integration of the X-Men into the MCU. He teased the appearance of familiar X-Men characters in upcoming films and highlighted that the storyline of Avengers: Secret Wars would usher in a new age of mutants. “I think you will see that continues in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognise. Right after that, the whole story of Secret Wars really leads us into a new age of mutants and of the X-Men. Again, [it’s] one of those dreams come true. We finally have the X-Men back,” he remarked.

He noted collaborations with animation studios in Japan and Korea for new projects like X-Men ’97 and The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. Furthermore, Feige highlighted Marvel’s influence from manga and webtoons, and upcoming attractions at Disney parks in Asia, including a new Spider-Man attraction at Shanghai Disneyland and an Avengers attraction at Hong Kong Disneyland.
