There’s a familiar face returning for Tron: Ares, and it’s none other than Jeff Bridges (Iron Man), who’s starred in both the original Tron film and Tron: Legacy as Kevin Flynn, one of the franchise’s most iconic and complex characters.
With Kevin’s seemingly fiery demise at the end of Tron: Legacy, there’s speculation that the character might not be dead after all, and could possibly aid the new protagonists in Ares. Jared Leto (Suicide Squad) plays highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, along with other big stars in the cast roster including Greta Lee (Past Lives ), Evan Peters (American Horror Story), Hasan Minhaj (The Morning Show), Jodie Turner-Smith (Anne Boleyn), Arturo Castro (Narcos), and Cameron Monaghan (Gotham) , with Gillian Anderson (The X Files).
“Jared Leto is the star of this third one. I’m really anxious to work with him. I’ve admired his work,” said Bridges on joining Tron: Ares, and working with co-star Jared Leto.
The film is currently shooting in Vancouver, and is set to premiere in cinemas on 10 October 2025.
