Cyberpunk 2077 Lets You Pet The Cats, But Dogs Are Still A Doubt

The past few months have been full of exciting news for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. From customisable pubic hair to being a VR detective, the game certainly gives fans lots to hype about. Following that, recently, another important feature for the Cyberpunk 2077 game has been revealed, players are now allowed to pet the cats in-game.

This was revealed when the game’s developer invited some media outlets for some extensive playtime for Cyberpunk 2077. The cat petting feature was first announced through Miranda Sanchez’s recount of her play-through experience in Night City. She had explored the game via Nomad mode and chose to forgo the story in favour of some deep exploration through the streets and alleyways.

However, with cats being the only furry companions spotted, could this be an allusion to more sinister events lurking beneath Night City? Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, the quest director of the game, had also previously mentioned that animals are nearly extinct in the world of the Cyberpunk 2077, hence it makes sense that only few species are seen.

As for dog lovers, don’t be too disappointed yet, the lack of a dogs could be due to the fact that this playthough was done on a demo version. Who knows, with Keanu Reaves having played multiple roles opposite doggy co-stars, we may just get the chance to see more furry friends make their appearance in the game alongside the breathtaking actor.

Cyberpunk 2077 will arrive on 19 November for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
