Watch Local Filmmaker’s 5-Minute Dummies Guide To The Star Wars Saga

Say you want to catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but have never watched a single movie from the new Star Wars trilogy. What do you do then? Scour the internet reading up every Wikipedia page you can find on the films? Head on over to Reddit to read up possible fan theories?

Well, you can definitely do all that, or just watch the short YouTube video made by Singaporean filmmaker Jaze Phua where he summarises what happens in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: The Last Jedi in a video that is just under five minutes for your easy viewing.

The video stars both Jaze Phua and Geek Culture’s very own Zacky T., where we see Zacky giving an initially uninterested Jaze a quick crash course on the new Star Wars trilogy Drunk History-style.

He breaks down every important character and key plot points, which is then acted out in Jaze’s popular low budget style, filled with cardboard Millenium Falcons and a light sabre made with a cucumber and aluminium foil.

Here are some of our favourite scenes from the video,

By the end of Zacky’s quick crash course, Jaze is more than ready to catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the third and last episode of the new Star Wars trilogy, which also happens to be the final chapter in the 42-year long Skywalker saga.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently out in theatres across Singapore. Before catching the film, you can read our spoiler-free review of the film or check out our handy guide to the Star Wars universe.
