ONE Esports Kicks Off The Dota World Pro Invitationals In Singapore This Weekend With US$500K Prize Pool

The gongs have been rung for the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitationals in Singapore happening this week, from December 17 – 22, 2019

Arguably the largest tournament for the hugely popular MOBA game in Southeast Asia in recent history, the World Pro Invitationals is a showcase of some of the world’s top Dota 2 talent in recent years.

During the event, heavyweights such as China-based TI9 2nd runner-up PSG.LGD, as well as Team Secret, Evil Geniuses, Na’Vi, Virtus.pro, Vici Gaming, TNC Predator, Team Liquid and Alliance, will all duke it out over a prize pool of US$500,000

Afterwards, the action doesn’t stop there. There’ll be another World Pro Invitational in Jakarta sometime in April 2020, with other top teams competing.

But the Dota train does not stop there for ONE Esports.

It will all culminate thereafter in the Dota 2 Singapore Major in 20 – 28 June 2020, where the overall victor among these teams will gun for a prize pool of US$1 million. Additionally, the Singapore Major will allow competing teams to win from a total of 15,000 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) points, which will enable these teams to qualify for the tenth iteration of Dota 2’s most prestigious tournament, The International 2020 (TI10), in Stockholm, Sweden.

With the Singapore Dota 2 majors this late into the calendar, it might very well be their last chance to make it to the grand stage. Also, expect many upsets along the way as well.

As such, there is plenty to be excited for the ongoing and upcoming regional Dota 2 tourneys, especially if you’re an astute follower of any of the above teams.

“It’s a really exciting time to be observing Dota 2, and a lot of compelling storylines and storytelling [in the teams battling it out] that we’re going to be doing is really going to culminate that weekend,”said ONE Esports CEO Carlos Alimurung.
