Anime fans and cat lovers will soon have something new to catch on Netflix with the release of A Whisker Away on 18 June 2020.
Produced by Studio Colorido, A Whisker Away is a tale of love, magic, and of course, cats.
The film sees Demon Slayer star Hanae Natsuki lending his voice for the male lead Kento Hinode, alongside Shida Mirai (Studio Ghibli’s The Secret World of Arrietty) and Yamadera Koichi (Ghost in the shell: SAC_2045).

Miyo Sasaki, nicknamed “Muge” meaning “infinitely mysterious,” has a bright personality and is full of energy at school and at home. She is also secretly in love with her classmate Kento Hinode. Miyo tries repeatedly to get Kento’s attention, but he takes no notice of her. She realizes that the only way to get close to him is to transform into a cat, but at some point, the boundary between herself and the cat becomes ambiguous, and she is forced to give up her life as a human…
The movie was directed by Satoh Junichi (Sailor Moon) with a script penned by Okada Mari (Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day).
