Taika Waititi is a household name in Hollywood these days. His work in Thor: Ragnarok has propelled him to greater heights in filmmaking.
We all know how busy Mr. Waititi is, what with his work on Thor: Love and Thunder and the live-action Akira movie. But it seems he’s always ready for a new challenge, this time in the form of a yet-to-be-announced role in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad.
Other than Waititi being in talks to star in the Suicide Squad soft reboot/sequel, nothing is known yet about his role, and how big of a part his potential character will play in the movie. If anything, his affable personality, sharp wit and humour makes him a natural fit in the work of an equally-eccentric director in James Gunn.
Currently, Waititi joins the likes of returning cast, Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), and Koel Kinnaman (Rick Flag), as well as newcomers in Idris Elba, Daniela Melchior, David Dastmalchian, and Nathan Fillion.
Suicide Squad is slated to start production next month, with a potential 2021 theatrical release.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
