Production for The Matrix 4 has begun, and we’re already eagerly anticipating the return of Keanu Reeves as Neo. And if there’s anything we’re more excited about, it’s how The One will look in the upcoming sequel by returning director Lana Wachowski.
As it turns out, we do have an inkling of Reeves as Neo, courtesy of a series of videos depicting him filming on set in California. Here they are (via CBR):
It looks as though Keanu Reeves will be retaining his current disheveled look, as seen in John Wick 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, as possibly an older Neo, as opposed to his clean look back in the original trilogy from the ’00s.
No footage of his returning co-star Carrie-Anne Moss was seen, though, as these look to be solo scenes of him. No other co-stars in Jonathan Groff, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jada Pinkett Smith were spotted either.
In any case, seeing Reeves back in action as The One will certainly spark some excitement among fans as we edge ever closer to the theatrical release of The Matrix 4 on 21 March 2021 – the same premiere date as John Wick 4!
