‘Returnal’ In Glorious 21:9 Ultrawide PC Gameplay, The Way It’s Meant To Be Played

Returnal was released back in April 2021 as a PS5 exclusive, and Geek Culture even awarded it Best Game of 2021. Now, Housemarque‘s game has been fully optimized for PC by Climax Studios, which delivers on the full Returnal experience complete with Suspend Cycle, Photo Mode, Co-op Mode, and the relentless challenge of the Tower of Sisyphus.

The game’s procedural world will ensure extreme replayability, and there are plenty of PC-centric graphical upgrades to the game, with native support for 21:9 ultrawide and even 32:9 super ultrawide monitors for one, and ray-tracing reflections. Depending on what graphic card you have, AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS are supported too.

Remember, to fully experience Returnal on the PC the way it’s meant to be played, be sure to plug in (via USB-C) a PS5 DualSense Wireless Controller, or, better yet, the DualSense Edge. The haptic feedback and dynamic trigger effects are something else.

Watch some early gameplay and in-game benchmark captured on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti running at 3440×1440 in native ultrawide aspect ratio, with HIGH settings.

Pushing it further, since the game recommends it, here’s some gameplay and in-game benchmark captured with EPIC settings as well.
