Something stirs in Raccoon City once again in Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, a new original CG anime series by Netflix. After months and months of countless leaks, the streamer, in collaboration with Capcom, has lifted the lid on an all-new adventure starring the franchise’s most iconic duo: Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield.
The minute-long trailer above depicts the aforementioned Leon and Claire exploring a dilapidated house in an undisclosed location. Though it’s only a glimpse of what’s to come, fans who have played Capcom’s most recent zombie-slaying titles in Resident Evil 2 and 3 will be entreated to a smattering of gorgeous, gory visuals with visual fidelity similar to the games themselves.

Interestingly, Infinite Darkness won’t be the only show based on the games that will be made for Netflix. There’s still the small matter of a live-action series featuring another all-new story, though it remains to be seen whether that leaked script is actually the story of this one.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is slated to premiere sometime in 2021, just in time for the franchise’s 25th anniversary.
