The premiere of Wonder Woman 1984 won’t be for another few months, and while Warner Bros. has been keeping its cards about the Gal Gadot-led sequel close to its chest, it looks as though we already know a little more about Wonder Woman’s arch-enemy, Cheetah.
A piece of promotional artwork featuring Kristen Wiig as Barbara Minerva in her transformed state surfaced over the weekend, which is a big departure from the cheetah-print-riddled outfit she wears in her regular form (via We Got This Covered).
Though this image is rather hazy, it does feature Wiig as Cheetah quite prominently, and it has sent fans on Twitter abuzz with excitement. The initial reception to Wonder Woman’s feline foe, interestingly, starkly contrasts how the Cats live-action movie was harshly criticised when it first appeared on theatres.
In any case, this certainly has gotten elevated the hype for Wonder Woman 1984 a lot more. And if that wasn’t enough, director Patty Jenkins already teased plans for a third Wonder Woman movie and possible spinoffs in the near future.
Wonder Woman 1984 opens in theatres on 4 June 2020.
