The upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog live-action movie releasing this weekend will no doubt be one to look for, especially after the titular blue speedster’s design was revamped following initial criticism.
While you wait for the film’s release, perhaps there could be other ways to show Sonic some love. We’re talking about, of course, the new Sonic-themed Puma RS-X3 sneakers.

The sneaker’s two colourways are inspired by the vibrant and striking designs of the two most prominent characters in the movie: Sonic himself (Puma White/Goldenrod) and Dr. Robotnik (Puma Black/High Risk Red). Both sets of sneakers are available now at the Puma store for US$120 / S$199.

The two sneakers, side by side, provide a nice contrast, with similarities being the Sonic logos found on the tongue, heel tab and insoles, as well as the iconic rings round at the heel counter. A score tally can also be found near the midsoles, which is a nice homage to the iconic games.
Aside from the RS-X3s, other Sonic the Hedgehog-themed apparel could be found on the Puma store, including a printed T-shirt (US$35 / S$59) sporting panels of Sonic and his red echidna buddy Knuckles, as well as a minimalist Sonic hoodie (US$65 / S$109), which comes in Black or Blue.
Sonic the Hedgehog releases in theatres on 20 February 2020.
Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
