James Gunn’s ‘Superman: Legacy’ Has Begun Pre-Production

Superman: Legacy, the Superman movie that will kick off DC Universe’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, has started pre-production.

DC Studios co-president James Gunn shared a photo of Superman: Legacy‘s script cover on Twitter and wrote that “costumes, production design, and more now up and running.”

There isn’t much else to know about Superman: Legacy aside from the fact that it won’t be an origin story and will pick up with the character already settled into his powers. We also know that Gunn will write, produce and direct the film.

No actor has been attached to the role since Henry Cavill’s departure but the rumour mill has been churning. Euphoria‘s Jacob Elordi and Hunters’ Logan Lerman are just some of the potential actors rumoured to fill the very big shoes Cavill has left behind.

Superman: Legacy is slated to fly into theatres on 11 July 2025.
