David Tennant Returns In ‘Doctor Who’ 60th Anniversary Specials Trailer

David Tennant is back as Doctor Who!

Before Ncuti Gatwa debuts as the 15th time travelling hero this November, Tennant will be returning to the screen once more as part of the Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials – but Tennant’s return is not the only thing fans can look forward to.

As seen in the new trailer, the Time Lord’s sidekick Donna Noble is also set to appear. The role of Noble will be reprised by none other than Catherine Tate. The trailer also stars franchise newcomers Yasmin Finney and Neil Patrick Harris.

Tennant’s Doctor and Tate’s Noble are fan-favourite characters so this 60th Anniversary Specials is bound to be an exciting time for Whovians. The titles of the three specials have also been unveiled. They are ‘The Star Beast,’ ‘Wild Blue Yonder’ and ‘The Giggle’.

“The titles are just the beginning of the Doctor’s biggest adventure yet. Autumn is coming, with three hours of danger, Donna and disaster about to be unleashed!” said showrunner Russell T Davies.

“If you thought the appearance of David Tennant was a shock, we’ve got plenty more surprises on the way. The path to Ncuti’s 15th Doctor is laden with mystery, horror, robots, puppets, danger and fun,” Davies said last year. “We’re giving you a year to speculate, and then all hell lets loose!”

New episodes of Doctor Who will air on BBC in the United Kingdom and Ireland. International fans can catch it on Disney+.
