With the PlayStation 5 launching in less than two weeks from now, it only makes sense to wonder just what is in store for PlayStation Plus subscribers who manage to get their hands on Sony’s shiny new next-gen console then. As it turns out, Sony has announced that Young Horses’ Bugsnax will be the first free game for PS Plus subscribers for the PS5 at launch.
While Bugsnax will also be available for PS4, only the PS5 version will be free to PS Plus subscribers. And while it will be free in November, the free period for Bugsnax specifically will run from 12 November 2020 – 4 January 2021, unlike the typical one-month free period for PS Plus free games.
Also, being a PS Plus subscriber for the PS5 has another teeny tiny benefit of having the PlayStation Plus Collection, comprising some of the best titles that has graced the PS4 over the past few years. These include:
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Battlefield 1
- Bloodborne
- Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Zombie’s Chronicles Edition
- Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
- Days Gone
- Detroit: Become Human
- Fallout 4
- Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition
- God of War
- Infamous Second Son
- Monster Hunter World
- Mortal Kombat X
- Persona 5
- Ratchet and Clank
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- The Last Guardian
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
- Until Dawn
Other PS Plus free games that will be available for the month of November include Middle-earth: Shadow of War, as well as Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition, both for the PS4. These two titles will be free from 3 – 30 November 2020.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
