The second season of Altered Carbon is soon upon us, and as such, Netflix has satiated our hunger with a brand-new teaser trailer, starring Anthony Mackie as lead character Takeshi Kovacs.
Season 2 of Altered Carbon takes place 30 years after the end of Season 1. Of course, if you’ve been following the series, you’d have remembered that Kovacs was originally played by Joel Kinnaman, who played as Kovacs’ previous Sleeve, Ryker, for the majority of the first season.

But at the end of Season 1, Ryker’s consciousness was returned to his original body, meaning somewhere between Seasons 1 and 2, Kovacs re-sleeved into the body of the character now played by Mackie.
The new trailer presents several interesting nuggets, including Kovacs’ previous lives, as well as his new ability to summon handguns at will, presumably by way of some form of technology.
Anthony Mackie (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Black Mirror) will be among a slew of new faces joining the ranks of Altered Carbon Season 2, including Simone Missick (Luke Cage) as Trepp, Dina Shihabi (Daredevil, Jack Ryan) as Dig 301, James Saito (Modern Love) as Tanaseda Hideki, and Torben Liebrecht (Operation Finale) as Colonel Ivan Carrera.
Altered Carbon releases on Netflix on 27 February 2020.

Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
