While we’re all waiting for the theatrical release of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker this December, here’s another reason to be hyped up for the closure of the Skywalker Saga, especially if you’re an avid LEGO Star Wars collector.
It appears that there may be a new LEGO Ultimate Collector’s Series (UCS) Star Wars set is slated to release ahead of The Rise of Skywalker, and that will be the LEGO 75252 Star Wars UCS Imperial Star Destroyer.
According to Promobricks, this might be a reissue of the 10030 Imperial Star Destroyer, which debuted way back in 2002, which is good news for both the fans who got their hands on the original and those that missed out on it since it was discontinued long ago.
In any case, here are the potential details for the upcoming LEGO 75252 Star Wars UCS Imperial Star Destroyer (no official images yet, though):
Product name: LEGO Star Wars UCS Imperial Star Destroyer (75252)
Piece count: Approximately 4,874
Price: € 699 (around US$775 / S$1,070)
Availability: September 18, 2019 for LEGO VIPs; October 1, 2019 for the rest of the public
As you can see, it’s quite comparable in piece count and price to the LEGO 75192 UCS Millennium Falcon which released in 2017. However, the Millennium Falcon looks to be the more value-for-money deal, clocking in at 7,541 pieces as opposed to the ISD’s 4,874.
Regardless, it’s still something to look out for. And as the projected release date suggests, that will weeks ahead of the highly-anticipated Triple Force Friday event, which will showcase the likes of The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian Disney+ TV series, and the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order video game.
