STRICT-G Teams Up With PROTEX To Launch Mobile Suit Gundam Luggage

What a time to be a Mobile Suit Gundam fan. In wake of its 45th anniversary last year, it has received a massive (literally) amount of love in the form of a life-size RX-78-2 in Japan. It also saw collabs with other brands, including the likes of Owndays, Seiko, G-Shock, Uniqlo, and even Hello Kitty.

The latest to join the Mobile Suit Gundam craze is Japanese luggage maker PROTEX, who has teamed up with Bandai’s apparel brand STRICT-G to produce a collection of themed luggages, launching on 14 March 2020.

There are two designs, with two sizes for each (check-in and carry-on). The first is the PROTEX CR-4000, which takes inspiration from black-and-red mobile suit piloted by Char Aznable. The PROTEX CR-3300 is derived from the emerald green Zeon Army mobile suits.

And like the iconic mobile suits they are modeled after, these luggages are designed with PROTEX’s signature high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material, which is both lightweight and durable.

The STRICT-G x PROTEX Mobile Suit Gundam luggage collection will release on 14 March 2020, and will be available for pre-order on the STRICT-G online store. The check-in versions will retail for ¥140,800 (US$1,348), and the carry-on sizes will retail for ¥118,800 (US$1,137).
