The new Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings trailer recently dropped and not only did it give a comprehensive look at the origin story of the hero, it also gave viewers a good look at a Marvel villain set to return.
Towards the end of the trailer, Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) and Katy (Awkwafina) can be seen watching a cage match between a member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts and a massive monster. The massive monster in question? Abomination.
Abomination was last seen in The Incredible Hulk and was played by Tim Roth. With the villain set to appear in the upcoming She-Hulk Disney+ series, this cameo provides a bit of insight into what the villain has been up to since 2008.
Other creatures seen in the trailer was a big dragon underwater. Many fans have theorised that it could be Fin Fang Foom, but Marvel has confirmed that the character will not be debuting in the movie. The dragon, however, did debut in a LEGO set.
Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings stars Liu as the titular hero who must confront the past he thought he left behind when he is drawn into the web of the mysterious Ten Rings organisation. The film also stars Tony Leung, Awkwafina, Michelle Yeoh, Florian Munteanu, Ronny Chieng and more. The big Marvel movie is expected to hit cinemas on 3 September 2021.
