Millie Bobby Brown Downplays Marvel’s The Eternals Involvement

Just when we thought one of the biggest name drops in Marvel Studios’ upcoming The Eternals was going to be a reality, fans have been denied. Millie Bobby Brown, the breakout star of Stranger Things has ruled out any possibility of her being involved in the new Phase 4 Marvel Studios movie… for now, at least.

Brown went on social media to address these claims yesterday during a livestream on Instagram, stating that she had “no idea” that she was going to be cast in The Eternals.

In the recorded livestream above, she exclaimed, in a rather annoyed tone:

Okay, guys, this is the problem. Everybody thinks I’m going to be in a Marvel movie. Not that I know of. My family and I have no idea. So, I just want to let everyone know that I’m not, as of right now.

After her heart-wrenching performances as Eleven on Netflix’s Stranger Things, Brown’s popularity has boomed in recent years, landing her first big Hollywood role in Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters that dropped earlier this year.

As such, it’s no surprise that the teenage sensation had been rumoured to be in talks to sign on with Marvel Studios for their new wave of films post-Spider-Man: Far From Home, especially after having been spotted visiting the Russo Brothers on the set of Avengers: Infinity War.

Brown’s response to these claims will no doubt disappoint many fans, but perhaps only “for now”. Despite this, there are still many more reasons to look forward to The Eternals, with the likes of Angelina Jolie and Ma Dong-Seok set to explore the cosmic side of the MCU.

Marvel Studios only has plans for the next five years, and we may only get a clearer picture of things after their panel at the San Diego Comic Con 2019 next week.
