MCU Star Sebastian Stan Is Young Donald Trump In ‘The Apprentice’ Movie

Sebastian Stan, celebrated for his roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Hulu’s Pam & Tommy, is set to portray a young Donald Trump in The Apprentice, as per Deadline.

Directed by Ali Abbasi, known for the Persian crime thriller Holy Spider, this new film delves into Trump’s formative years in New York’s real estate scene during the 1970s and 1980s, under the mentorship of Roy Cohn. The project, now in production, features Jeremy Strong as Cohn and Maria Bakalova as Trump’s first wife, Ivana Trump, alongside Stan. The Apprentice is expected to unravel themes of power, deception, and the beginnings of an American dynasty.

Production for The Apprentice is currently underway. The script is penned by Gabriel Sherman, whose work includes a biography of infamous Fox News founder Roger Ailes, adapted into the Showtime miniseries The Loudest Voice starring Russell Crowe. Daniel Bekerman, Jacob Jarek, and Ruth Treacy produce, along with executive producers Sherman, Grant Johnson, and Amy Baer, in association with Mark Rappaport’s Kinematics.

Stan, an Emmy nominee for his portrayal of Tommy Lee in Pam & Tommy, is renowned for his role as Bucky Barnes in the MCU. His other projects include Dumb Money, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and I, Tonya. Upcoming roles include appearances in The Thunderbolts and A Different Man.

Director Abbasi’s latest film, Holy Spider, was Denmark’s entry for the best international feature film at the Academy Awards. It also competed at the Cannes Film Festival, securing the Best Actress award for Zar Amir Ebrahimi. Additionally, Abbasi directed episodes of HBO’s The Last of Us.

Jeremy Strong, who plays Roy Cohn, is recognised for his Emmy-winning performance as Kendall Roy in HBO’s Succession. Maria Bakalova, portraying Ivana Trump, has been acclaimed for roles in Borat Subsequent Moviefilm and Bodies Bodies Bodies.
