Marvel’s Helstrom has been cancelled at Hulu after just one season. The cancellation of the Helstrom live-action Marvel series marks the end of an era for Marvel TV. The move was fully expected as Helstrom comes from a now-defunct Marvel TV arm.
This isn’t the first Marvel series to be cancelled at Hulu. Ever since the TV arm integrated with Marvel Studios and became a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios, TV series were to only run exclusively on Disney+. As a result, Ghost Rider was cancelled at Hulu late last year.
The 10-part Helstrom series centres around the fiendish sibling duo of Daimon and Ana Helstrom, who are the half-devil children of an enigmatic serial killer, whose identity is one of their main goals in the show’s story.
Currently, Hulu has two animated series that appears to be on track as part of their multi-project deal with Marvel Television back in the day. It is unclear if the animated series will see the light of day. Even if it does, it will eventually suffer the same fate as the other Marvel TV shows that came before it.
