After what seems like ages, the long-gestating live-action TV adaptation of Y: The Last Man has finally been officially unveiled, and it will come to FX on Hulu. Here is the show’s official logo:
The announcement came from Disney at its recent Investor Day 2020 presentation. While no premiere date has been set in stone yet, ComicBook.com reports that it could release sometime in 2021. Disney has yet to confirm this potential release window, however.
Production for the series had only recently resumed in October, having had to cease temporarily due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, some recasting for the lead role of Yorick Brown had to be done, as original lead Barry Keoghan was replaced by Ben Schnetzer.
Joining Schnetzer will be the likes of Diane Lane, Lashana Lynch, Main Irelend, Imogen Poots, Amber Tamblyn and Juliana Canfield in Y: The Last Man. Eliza Clark will serve as the series’ showrunner and executive producer. Melina Matsoukas (Insecure, Queen & Slim) will direct the series pilot.
Marion has a serious RPG addiction. Sometimes it bleeds into real life; he forgets to sleep because he thinks he has a Witcher’s body clock. Forgive him in advance if he suddenly blurts out terms such as “Mind Flayer” and “Magic Missile”, because never once does he stop thinking about his next Dungeons & Dragons game.
