Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Karen Gillan Returns As Nebula In Thor: Love And Thunder

It seems like another familiar face is being added into the cast of Thor: Love and Thunder.

After Matt Damon is reportedly returning to the Thor franchise after a brief cameo in Thor: Ragnarok and Chris Pratt once again set to butt heads with Chris Hemsworth, Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Karen Gillan is following suit.

Dearly known as Gamora’s sister and daughter of Thanos, Gillan’s character Nebula last appeared in Avengers: Endgame as both a hero and a villain. Previously a minor character, she was pushed to centre stage in Endgame and was given a compelling and fascinating story arc.

She may not have been the emotional centre of Endgame, but her growth is certainly the most surprising development. That said, fans can expect more of this bald cyborg for the Thor sequel.

Responding to a fan question on an Instagram story, Gillan shared revealed that she cut her hair in preparation to play Nebula once again.

“This is my hair. I cut it the other day in preparation for Nebula so we don’t have to, like, get so much hair into the bald cap,” Gillan clarified.

In addition to Gillan, other Guardians of the Galaxy appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder include Vin Diesel as Groot, Pom Klementieff as Mantis and David Bautista as Drax.

Thor: Love and Thunder begins filming this month and is set to premiere 11 February 2022.
