After Minn-Erva, what’s next on the horizon for Gemma Chan? Another stint in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, of course.
According to Variety, the Crazy Rich Asians star is in talks to make a return to the ever-growing cast of Marvel’s Phase 4, specifically in the cosmic side of the MCU in The Eternals.
The twist in this tale is that she may not be returning as Minn-Erva, as seen in Captain Marvel, but as a different Marvel character altogether.
While this is interesting, Chan wouldn’t be the first actor in the MCU movies to portray two different characters; Benedict Cumberbatch played Dr. Stephen Strange and did motion capture for Dormammu in Doctor Strange, and Kenneth Choi played as Jim Morita, World War II soldier in Captain America: The First Avenger, and Principal Morita in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
In any case, she looks set to join a star-studded cast in The Eternals, which already includes the likes of Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, and Don Lee.
The Eternals is slated to release in theatres on November 6, 2020.
