In recent times, we’ve seen catholic exorcisms, rabid zombies and clown-masquerading aliens take to the big screen, and those are good fun, don’t get us wrong. But if you’re a fan of the atmospherically haunting genre of Asian horror, then you may be looking forward to these three Asian horror films which will be making their way to Singapore’s theatres in the month of November.
Set to premiere on November 8, 2018, Indonesian film, Kafir: A Deal with The Devil, tells the story of two children determined to save their vision-plagued mother from a terrible fate, after the unnaturally gruesome death of their father.
Taiwanese film, The Rope Curse, arrives on Singapore’s shores exactly one week later on November 15, 2018. Featuring a protagonist who livestreams occult occurrences, the film shows us what happens when a ritual goes horribly awry. We’re guessing vengeful spirits aren’t too happy about having their instruments of death uploaded online and monetised.
Finally, The Pool, a Thai horror, will take to the cinemas on November 22, 2018. In it, a couple finds themselves stranded on the bottom of an emptied six-metre pool — which already sounds like a pretty interesting premise. And for a little extra seasoning on the plot, it turns out they’re not the only ones trapped there.
