First Photos With Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 & Flip 4 In Times Square, New York

Freshly announced at the Samsung Unpacked 2022 event held in New York City, which Geek Culture had the privilege to attend, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 have both received some welcomed upgrades and improvements this year.

Apart from being slimmer and lighter, with better battery life and software features, the cameras for both devices have, naturally, received plenty of love and been upgraded to match the same quality as Samsung’s flagship S series of phones.

The Flip 4 now comes with a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP selfie camera on the inside. Meanwhile, the Fold 4 comes packed with a 50MP wide-angle main camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera (3x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom. Aditionally, it also has a 10MP selfie camera and a 4MP under display camera.

Having gotten our hands on both devices in New York, we took the opportunity to hit the streets of the Big Apple to test out the cameras in Times Square. We took a series of day shots and night shots to see how the Fold 4 and Flip 4 utilises the “Nightography” feature as seen with the Samsung S22 Ultra.

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, so we’ll let the photos speak for themselves. As both devices come with a bevy of cameras, we tested out the ones that matter most, which are of course the main wide-angle cameras and ultra-wide cameras, even for taking selfies, along with the Fold 4’s telephoto camera.

Being able to use the rear main camera of the Fold 4 and Flip 4 to take selfies is definitely going to be one of the main reasons to buy these spiffy new devices. It’s a bit step forward to taking that perfect selfie/wefie.
