A new battery king has been crowned, and it’s designed to last. Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the Honor X9e Pro doubles down on durability, packing a handful of industry-first features into a slim mid-range chassis.
The standout upgrade is the 11,000mAh battery, up from 8,300mAh, which the company claims can support up to 164.5 hours of music playback and up to 66.8 hours of video playback. Touted as the largest capacity in the industry to date, it also offers 80W wired charging and 27W reverse wired charging, allowing users to charge compatible devices, such as another phone, in a pinch.
Brightness and water resistance have been refined, too. Peak brightness is now 10,000 nits — proving handy for tropical, sunny climates like Singapore — with triple IP68, IP69, and IP69K certification extending to underwater photography and free diving “up to 10 meters under controlled conditions”. According to Honor, the submarine-inspired design spans a pressure-resistant chassis, multi-layer waterproofing, compartmentalised sealing, and drainage channels.
Armed with its impact-absorbing Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology 4.0, the X9e Pro can withstand drops of up to three metres and has passed testing across more than 10 real-world ground surfaces and all eight points of the device, including marble, asphalt, and cobblestone.
Despite a bigger battery and improvements, the handset is only slightly heavier at 203 grams (versus 193g on the previous model), and boasts a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor under the hood. The 6.8-inch OLED display delivers a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution, while the dual-camera setup pairs a 108-megapixel (MP) main shooter with a 5MP wide-angle sensor. Other notable features include AI FreeGrip for intelligent left- and right-hand recognition and precision touch with wet or gloved hands.
The Honor X9e Pro comes in four colours: Dawn Gold, Reddish Brown, Royal Purple, and Midnight Black. The base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage retails for S$529 and can be upgraded to 256GB (S$659) or 512GB (S$829). Customers who pre-order anytime between now and 1 October will receive gifts worth up to S$626, comprising the Honor Pad X7, an instant rebate of S$30, and an extended warranty.
Alongside the handset, Honor also unveiled the Watch 6 and Pad 20 Pro. The smartwatch features a 35-day battery, NFC card access, and over 120 Sports Modes, including a dedicated badminton and football mode, and comes in Shadow Black (S$259) and Twilight Brown (S$289). The latter, packing a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip and a 12.1-inch paper-like, anti-glare display with 3K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, retails for S$799. Each purchase of the Honor Pad 20 Pro comes with a Smart Bluetooth keyboard and the Magic Pencil 4s (worth S$288).
