It has been heavily demanded by fans, and strongly rumoured by insiders and now, we have a solid leak that establishes what some would say is a “Fantastic” piece of leak for the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
A short clip, seemingly of a recording of a monitor, shows a battle between members of the Iluminati and the Scarlet Witch. This Scarlet Witch is not in costume, but bears some battle scars including a trail of blood flowing down the right side of her face.
There is no dialogue on the clip, and reportedly leaked screenshots of the same battle have also been circulating, indicating that the footage is legitimate.
**HEAVY SPOILERS AHEAD!!!! PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK**
Fighting Wanda is Captain Carter (we cannot tell if it’s Hayley Atwell though it’s unlikely to be anyone else) and Maria Rambeau (likely to be Lashana Lynch) as a Captain Marvel variant, but the two biggest surprises are the characters in the front.
Standing in front of Captain Carter is Black Bolt, with Anson Mount reprising his role from the critically lambasted Marvel’s Inhumans. We cannot tell if it’s actually him as this one is wearing the full costume, including the cowl but it sure looks like the jawline of Captain Christopher Pike of the USS Enterprise.
And standing facing Wanda is none other than John Krasinski as Reed Richard aka Mister Fantastic of the Fantastic Four. This one is pretty obvious as he’s wearing the familiar and classic blue garb of the leader of Marvel’s First Family, with the number 4 emblazoned on his chest.
While he doesn’t exhibit any of his fantastic stretching abilities, the accompanying leaked images show puddles of goo on the ground, next to Captain Carter. In the comics, attempts to disintegrate Reed Richards sometimes show remnants of goo, as broken pieces of his rubbery form.
In the comics, Black Bolt’s presence in the Illuminati represents the Inhumans, while Reed Richards represents science. We’ve previously indicated that Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart, represents the mutants. All of these leaks, while new, have been previously covered in our street magic video, where we took to the streets to ask fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who they would love to see appear in cameos in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and fans did point out Reed Richards, Captain Carter and Professor X.
Fans have been demanding that Krasinski, along with his real-life wife Emily Blunt take on the comic book roles of married superheroes Reed and Sue Richards. Blunt was famously cast as Black Widow during Phase 1 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but had to relinquish the role due to a scheduling conflict. While she doesn’t appear in the leaked footage, fans already have half of their dream fan casting.
Hsals needs more space in his house, and more money in his bank account to pay for all the toys, collectibles and other geek related items that companies are churning out. Free-time? Girlfriend? Who’s got time for those?
