DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Works Great For Content Creators, But Isn’t A Must-Have

Content creation has taken on many different forms over the years, each with their own set of challenges. For professionals who work off smartphones, shaky footage is a common issue owing to a lack of stabilisation, especially if the user has to move around during filming for vlogging, social media, or similar purposes.

The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 offers a compact, useful solution for scenarios as such. Boasting a near-identical design to its predecessor, the Osmo Mobile 5, it comes with an 8.24-inch stereoscopic arm and an estimated six-hour battery life, alongside an impressive show of stability.

Stacked up against the competent stabilisation that flagship models can easily afford nowadays, the gimbal may come across as a little bit of an overkill for casual videographers. It does have an edge with its adjustable reach, however, and proves to be more handy for shooting group photos or multiple subjects as opposed to smartphones.

There are some areas for improvement, though. Apart from the limited offerings on DJI’s companion app, gesture control isn’t ideal for individuals who depend on or use a lot of gestures because a video recording is triggered every time the Osmo Mobile 6 picks them up. There are occasional instances where it becomes janky as well, failing to track subjects and keep them in frame – though it does readjust after a short while.

Check out the detailed breakdown of the gimbal’s capabilities in the video above, and the ways in which it serves as nice addition to any content creator’s kit.
