Capcom Brings Three Resident Evil Games Over To The Nintendo Switch

With the forthcoming remake of Resident Evil 2 inching closer to its release date of January 25, 2018, adventurous and exciting times are certainly in store for fans. There’s bound to be plenty of content to look forward to, from the reintroduction of everyone’s likable duo, Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, to the retention of their respective campaigns that sport a slightly fresh spin and of course, graphically-better gameplay.

But that’s not all that Capcom has in place for Resident Evil enthusiasts in 2019. Taking to Twitter, the team has announced that three titles are heading over to the Nintendo Switch: Resident Evil, Resident Evil 0, and the much-adored fan favourite Resident Evil 4.

Naturally, questions arise. When are these classics going be launched? Will there be new content added to the Switch port? Which versions will be made available? The answers: 2019, no idea, and…no idea. The general consensus is that they are going to be remastered editions of the original games with Switch-specific features, though don’t take our word on it – more details are set to follow closer to the date.

The trio will join the existing Resident Evil line-up on the Switch, with the latest entry being Resident Evil 7, which was temporarily brought over to the current-gen hybrid console in May 2017. The first title to operate on a Japanese cloud-streaming service, it was only briefly open for gamers in Japan and has yet to arrive to Western markets. Following that, Resident Evil: Revelations and Resident Evil: Revelations 2 trailed hot on its heel as a double-pack, much to the joy of fans.

Here’s to some new Switch-specific features, fingers crossed!
