Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for real this time, but not in a role that most will expect. The actor was previously interested in playing Professor X in a future X-Men movie, and fans excitedly rallied behind the concept.
Esposito remained cryptic about his role in an upcoming MCU movie, but confirmed his debut would come “sooner rather than later, and better than you can imagine,” at a panel on the Thunder Stage at CCXP. Considering the only Marvel movie coming this year is Deadpool & Wolverine, there’s a high chance his character could make a small cameo.
There’s plenty lined up for the future of the MCU, with Captain America: Brave New World coming to theatres in 2025, followed by The Fantastic Four. If Esposito doesn’t make his entrance in Deadpool & Wolverine, chances are we could see him in one of these upcoming projects.
We’re excited to see how Giancarlo Esposito will come into the MCU and the character he’ll be playing, but we’ll have to wait until Marvel pulls back the curtain to see how it will play out.
