All Original 151 Pokemon Go Even More Adorable With New Official Plush Toys!

The Pokémon franchise has grown a lot over the past years, expanding from the original 151 pokemon in the Gen I era to over 800 in Gen VII (Pokemon Sun and Moon). There’s just something about nostalgia that sticks, however, and the original Game Boy’s Kanto region critters have always held a special place in many trainers’ hearts.

It certainly comes as great news then, that a new official line of Pokémon plushies has been announced. Known as the Pokémon Fit collection, it will feature all 151 Pokémon from Bulbasaur to Mew, with 30 to come first to Pokemon Centres in Japan on July 13, 2018. Meanwhile, the remaining 121 are planned for a later release in November.

Contrary to the usual size for plushies, these are described to be “palm-sized”, although exact specifications have yet to be given. The first wave sees the inclusion of fan favourites, such as Pikachu, the various Eevee-lutions, and Ditto, alongside the three Legendary birds of Kanto (Articuno, Zapdous, and Moltres).

With each plushie priced at ¥1,100 (around S$13.50), the full set totals up to around ¥166,100, which is quite the small price to pay to catch ’em all. Besides, that means the lesser-known Pokémon can finally gain more fans – after all, how often is it that one comes across a Drowzee plushie, for instance?

As expected, the Pokémon Fit range has only been confirmed for Japan thus far, with no word on an international launch. It’s a timely addition, nonetheless, considering how the original 151 have been getting a lot of love lately in the form of Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee, as well as Kanto-themed rewards in Pokemon Go.

As for fans of other Gen Pokémon? There’s the upcoming Pokemon RPG to look forward to, or the now-available Pokemon Quest to dive into!
