Xiaomi 13T Comes With Leica Camera, And At More Affordable Price

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra made history as the company’s most expensive smartphone, and now there’s a more affordable alternative for those who want the Leica camera prowess, but not necessarily the best technology. Joining the family are the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro, which will receive five years of security patches and four major Android updates, similar to Samsung and Google devices.

Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro

The Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro pack value for money, starting at S$699 and S$949 respectively, with the only differences being the processor, charging speed, and video recording capabilities. Like before, both models feature a Leica-branded camera system, sans some of the bells and whistles found on its flagship counterpart.

Instead of the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s one-inch type sensor and a 200-megapixel sensor, users will get 50-megapixel main cameras, a 12-megapixel ultrawide, and a 20-megapixel front camera. The two 50-megapixel set-up includes a 1/1.28-inch f/1.9 wide camera, as well as a 1/2.88-inch f/1.9 telephoto camera. All three rear cameras boast both Leica Authentic and Leica Vibrant colour modes, though the non-Pro iteration won’t be able to record video in 4K.

Display-wise, the devices are equipped with a 6.67-inch flat AMOLED screen that offers a 2,712 x 1,220 resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 480Hz touch sampling rate, a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and support for both Dolby Vision plus HDR10+. There’s a slight distinction under the hood — the Xiaomi 13T runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 Plus processor, while its Pro sibling packs a Dimensity 8200-Ultra.

Another notable feature on the Xiaomi 13T Pro is its HyperCharge technology. Both smartphones are powered on a 5,000mAh battery, but only it can be fast-charged at up to 120W for a full charge in as little as 19 minutes. In contrast, the Xiaomi 13T tops out at 36W.

Both models will be available in blue, green or black variations. The Xiaomi 13T Pro comes in a few different configurations: 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, 12GB + 512GB, or 16GB + 1TB. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 13T ships with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Pre-order for the devices opens 30 September and runs till 6 October. Those who pre-order the Xiaomi 13T, priced at S$699, will receive a Mi Beside Lamp 2 (worth S$52).

As for the Xiaomi 13T Pro, prices are fixed at S$899 for the 12GB + 512GB variant, and S$1,099 for the 16GB + 1TB version. Pre-order for the former includes a S$50 off its usual price and a 23.8-inch Mi desktop monitor, and a complimentary Xiaomi Watch S1 for the latter.
