Unleash The Bloodthirst When Shark Meets Dracula In ‘Sharkula’ This June

Remember when your friends used to say, “Man, I can’t wait for the next shark movie to launch”? Yeah, we don’t either. And yet, here we are with another shark flick, Sharkula, aiming to make waves this June.

Ever since Steven Spielberg’s Jaws (1975) became a blockbuster hit, we have been infested by shark films every few years, some good, mostly bad. Recall the literal sand sharks (Sand Sharks), an undead shark (Ghost Shark), and even a two-headed shark (2-Headed Shark Attack)?

Some movies did well enough that it spawned its own shiver of shark films. The most famous in recent years has to be Sharknado, with six movies in its name. After bidding farewell to The Last Sharknado (2018), we hoped that terrible shark movies will go away for good.

But no, here we are four years later, with bad shark movies continuing in its wake – as we get menaced by flying sharks (Sky Sharks), sharks that swim in corn stalks (Sharks of the Corn), a guardian shark (Noah’s Shark) and other fantastical shark mutants. Evidently, someone must still be watching them that studios keep producing them.

Hence, we now have Sharkula. Produced by Wild Eye Releasing (same studio that did Noah’s Shark and Sharkenstein), this one has a great white shark (why is it always a great white) and its vampire minions terrorising a tourist community. That is probably all the plot that you’ll need to know before you tear into the deliciously ‘messy’ death scenes.

The movie falls squarely into the campy side. Expect some over-the-top acting and terribad special effects. And the soundtrack, oh the soundtrack. Well, you can take a dive yourself into the trailer.

If that tickles your fancy, you can sink your fangs into Sharkula this June 2022.
