Universal Studios Japan’s Super Nintendo World Theme Park Opening February 2021

The theme park we’ve all been waiting for is here, and it’s closer than you think. Universal Studios Japan has sent an official opening date of 4 February 2021 for Super Nintendo World.

The Super Nintendo World theme park is said to model after Super Mario Bros locations such as Princess Peach’s Castles, Toad Castles and Bowser’s Castle just to name a few.

The theme park intends to bring the game most people have grown up playing to life. As seen in Bowser’s Castle, visitors will be able to climb a staircase to a life-size statue of Bowser himself. The castle’s corridors are lined with portraits of the character himself and of course, features an attraction ride.

In addition to the rides, the theme park will also sell themed food like Super Mario Bros Mario and Luigi waffles and Princess Peach fruit cream sodas.

The highly-anticipated theme park was expected to open ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games but was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Located at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka, foreign tourists might have to wait a while longer till they can finally step foot into Super Nintendo World. As of now, Japan’s borders are only open to permanent foreign residents and business visitors from certain countries only.
