Tom Holland Suits Up For ‘Spider-Man 4’, To Start Filming Summer 2025

Tom Holland has officially confirmed that Spider-Man 4 is on its way, with the star announcing that filming will start in the summer of 2025. This confirmation came during Holland’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, marking the first official confirmation after much speculation.

Holland expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “Next summer we start shooting. Everything’s good to go. We’re nearly there. It’s super exciting; I can’t wait.” He later described the new film’s concept as “crazy” and distinct from previous entries, suggesting it will offer fans something uniquely engaging. He shared these insights while on Good Morning America, hinting at innovative directions for the upcoming Spider-Man narrative.

Further details emerged for Spider-Man 4 when Holland spoke on The Rich Roll Podcast, where he revealed he and Zendaya, who returns as Michelle Jones, have already reviewed a draft of the script. “It needs work, but the writers are doing a great job. I read it three weeks ago, and it really lit a fire in me,” Holland noted. He described their reaction to the script as very animated, adding, “Zendaya and I sat down, read it together, and we at times were bouncing around the living room.”

While specific plot details remain under wraps, Holland has hinted at a desire to introduce Into the Spider-Verse protagonist Miles Morales into the MCU. “If I would be lucky enough to somehow bring Miles Morales into my Spider-Man universe and into the MCU, I’d love to do for a young kid what [Robert Downey Jr.] did for me,” he shared. This inclusion could signal a fresh dynamic in the franchise, potentially focusing on a mentorship role for Holland’s character.

Spider-Man: No Way Home ended with significant changes for Holland’s character, who was erased from the world’s collective memory to seal a rift he caused in the multiverse. The film concluded with Peter Parker starting anew in a modest New York City apartment, hinting at a more grounded future narrative possibly setting the stage for Morales’ introduction.

Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is set to direct the fourth film, taking over from Jon Watts who directed the first three films of the franchise. With this change in direction and the addition of new elements, Spider-Man 4 promises to continue the legacy of one of Marvel’s most beloved characters with fresh twists and deeper character development. Fans will have to wait for further details, but the anticipation is already building for what could be another blockbuster addition to the Spider-Man saga.
