The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Set Photos Show Return Of Batroc the Leaper

With filming for Disney’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier back on track after being halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we finally have new set photos to tide us over till the show’s release. And from the looks of said set photos (courtesy of JustJared), it seems a familiar face from Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be making his return.

In the photos we can clearly see former UFC champion Georges St-Pierre, the actor for Batroc the Leaper, on set in costume. We first met the mercenary in the opening sequence of The Winter Soldier onboard a hijacked S.H.I.E.L.D ship. Since then there hasn’t been any sign of Batroc in the MCU, but it looks like that will be changing very soon.

Aside from St-Pierre, Emily Vancamp as Sharon Carter was also captured on set, though her role was already previously announced as part of the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel in 2019. Another familiar face fans can expect to see is Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo who was spotted wearing Zemo’s signature purple mask from the comics.

Prior to being halted, Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan revealed that the series only had “two or three weeks” of filming left. So it remains to be seen if the show will debut on Disney+ before 2020 is over.

A new release date for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has yet to be set.
